These are some of the special woods or shapes that I have made
A head made from ebony, from Papua New Guinea. A heavy wood with black markings. This one had initials on the side and 9" markers for playing to USCA rules.
This shows the colours of some of the woods I use. From the front...
Rosewood - dark brown
Padauk - a rich red colour that darkens with exposure
Imbuya - the lightest density wood
Mahogany - from Jamaica, imported in 1909
Pau Amarello - yellow wood, but I have none left
A head with a 'curved' bottom, sometimes referred to as "boat shape". The wood is kingwood - difficult to find.
