Mahogany

This mahogany came from Jamaica in 1909 and has interesting grain. It is more orange than the rich dark red of cuban mahogany, of which there is none left.

I bought a chunk of yew about 30years ago and when someone asked for a head in yew I decided to cut it up. It's full of knots and imperfections, but it looks attractive. It isn't the strongest wood and if it split then I would replace it with a different wood.

Ziricote is a very dark wood with interesting grain patterns that almost don't show up. This one is for US rules players.
